Introduction:
"Crisis Rises" is a game developed during the M.S.AUD program at Cornell University as part of the Games for Conviviality course. This collaborative project engages players in tackling the threat of rising sea levels in New York City, emphasizing the importance of cooperation, climate crisis awareness, and strategic urban design.
Project Overview: In "Crisis Rises," players take on roles representing different city agencies, working together to build seawalls and implement strategies to protect the city from climate-related disasters. The game combines physical and digital elements, offering an immersive experience that mirrors real-life urban planning and crisis management.
Design Features: The game integrates various design tools and techniques, including ArcGIS, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Adobe Creative Suite, along with 3D printing and laser cutting for game elements. "Crisis Rises" not only educates players on urban resilience but also provides a dynamic and engaging gameplay experience.
